  • Power outlets not working

    I have just noticed this stuff not working;
    1. cigarette lighter light
    2. Ashtray light
    3. Power outlets - both the one in front of the gear stick and the one located at the back right of the car

    I am not sure which fuses to check and consulting the manual and the diagram on the back of the panel doesn't really make it clear.

    I have checked all fuses for continuity by leaving the fuse in place and placing the probes on the exposed surface of the fuse - either side of where the fuse rating is displayed the metal of the forks of the fuse are exposed and I can get a reading. Is this a valid test?

    thanks for any help.

    Hi Gavin
    You are onto it with your fuse test method.
    I have a feeling that the fuse you seek could be in the engine bay fuse box located near the cranking battery.
    Good luck

      The lights operate on a different circuit to the power outlet and are feed by the dash panel
      brightness rheostat.

      The power outlets are controlled by a relay, is controlled by the 7.5A accessory fuse, the relay
      is fused by 15A power outlet fuse, ie 12V via accessory fuse operates the relay by power the
      relay coil. One contact of the relay has power feed to it by the 15A fuse, the other contact goes
      to the power outlets.

        Understood. Do you know where these fuses are located?

          The fuses will most likely be located in the engine bay fuse box.
