  • Kennys 2014 150 GXL

I purchased my 150 GXL in Nov 2014 after moving on a 2012 BT50. The BT was a good ute/4x4 but I wanted a wagon for future "family needs" so decided on the prado. I have done a few mods to it since then so have decided to start a late rig build up thread (it doesnt look to much like the first pic now).

First nod was a ARB winch bar and a compressor under the bonnet.

The next on the long list was a Safari Snorkel, Warn Zeon 10 winch and a pair of ARB recovery points.

Out of interest did you need to remove the bulbar to retro-fit the Zeon winch.
New 2015 150s GX 5 seater with floor mats, towbar and a big wish list
Previously a 2004 120s 1KZ GX silver manual with stuff
before that a 1996 RV6 90S with lots of gear

        G'day Rags,

Yep the bar had to come off, bit of a pain but didnt have the $$ when the bar went on. I got the ARB recovery points for a good price so they went on at the same time.

I then got some Dick Cepek Fun Country 265/70-R17 Tyres ( I think they were already on it in the above pic) . I am really happy with the tyres both on and off-road!

The next addition was some protection for the underside as the OEM plates are pretty soft and where bent up.

I got one of Brain's TG150 guards for the transfer case and actuator and a set of ARB UVP to cover the rest the Prado's vital organs.

I then fitted a Provent 200 catch can on the drivers side behind the airbox as well as a dual battery kit.
I picked up an cheap dual battery kit at the ARB garage sale, I have a two double sockets in the back (cigi/cigi and cigi/engel) as well as a anderson plug running to the towbar.

From here I had an OME 2 inch lift installed to give it a bit more clearance and fitted a Rhino Platform up top and a GME TX3345.

As I couldn't easily get hold of a rim for a second spare at a decent price I went aftermarket for six new rims and on sold my OEM rims.

Its getting there but there are a few more things I would like to do!!

Last weekend I bolted in one of Tin's water tanks, very easy install that took about 45 mins. Just trying to decide on the tap setup.

Ive also installed a 2.0m awning and a compressor under the bonnet.

Went out with a mate yesterday to Kosciuszko/Brindabella for a drive, he had a small 12v Dick Smith oven with hot meat pies ready for lunch in not so warm weather.

I went straight out this morning and got one. Cheap but seem to work pretty well.
