Simple. It will say on the service invoice for the parts used.
As they have to supply new seats because they are not re-usable.

    Cheers

Get the mechanic to pull out the old 'copper' seats (yours is 2007). New DLC one's look a world different . Get him to photograph the seats in position and coming out, then arm yourself with the service book...??????

My Toyota dealer explained to me at my 40k service how the injectors don't need to come out for valve clearance checks in the 150.. So those deals ain't getting done in 150s. Can someone confirm this is the case, which is different to the 120 where the injectors need to come out for valve clearance checks?

So my kdj120's vin number is after the ones on the list here, hopefully I'm safe (plus Toyota do all my services, much to the disgust of my wallet)

I've never seen the coated seats (aluminium look) leak, they do start to erode away, another reason why I recommend 120k is The time to go in.
(assuming The injectors are ok till then) then while your paying labour to do valve clearances, you put new injectors in.
Old injectors will have the copper seats. They were discontinued by 1/08.
Unless your services were done before then, the revised seats should have been used.
Your leaking injectors will have copper seats I'm sure.

Check Service parts list & labour charges, that won't be there.

Give me a call & I can explain in more detail.

              Same engine. Lots of talk.

              Do you want the facts?
Do injector diagnostic every 10,000k, if they are ok leave them alone, then remove & check at 120k, incl new injectors or at least seats if you are tight. (extra $2000.00 for injectors & pipes etc every 5 years is nothing).
Depending where they are at, if you adjust them ( valve clearances), if you replace your injectors or not, if you reduce the soot & how soon you do,
              http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/EGR-Blank...item2c9e9e9176
then your exert technician can tell you next time you need to go in again.
              I'd be planning on 240k.

Hi folks, not sure if anyone is interested in an update but it's been almost a month since my Prado died.

It's been back and forth, Toyota Aust continuing to deny my claim because the injector nozzle seats have not been changed every 40k!

Today I contacted the ACCC and have completed my Consumer Protection complaint form. This should all be resolved one way or another within two weeks!

I've obtained the service invoice history for the 40k and 80k services performed on my vehicle by a Toyota dealership! No injector nozzle seats were changed!

They have been an absolute pain in the butt to deal with! But I'm persisting!

I will let you know how I go!

                    Cheers

It's shite that you have to resort to that kind of action. When my engine blew they tried the "must be dirty fuel" line. I had all my services done by Goldfields Toyota including one only a couple of weeks before the big bang. I also had the extended warranty which paid the $11K bill. I have never seen the 40K removal/inspection of seats but mine is a late 2008 so had the latest seats. Didn't help when the injectors failed though. Good luck.

You won't see it because they don't do it, generally.

Update - they've rejected the conciliation from Consumer Protection stating that my vehicle needed to be serviced by a registered Mechanic. I serviced the vehicles at minor services from 130k's with the major services being conducted by the local registered mechanic.

The vehicle is out of warranty, it's an issue with a part not the vehicle. I can't understand how they can get away with this.

I've been advised that my next step is magistrates court! 😡

Apart from credit card receipts for purchasing oil and filters how can someone prove they have been conducting their services??

                          Thanks

So how do they deny the claim when the registered mechanic - that is Toyota - didn't do what they should have done at the 40 and 80K services?.

Unfortunately I was not on the call from Toyotas State Manager. I've proven that their 40k seal changes have not occurred so now their loop hole is this registered mechanic argument! Perhaps if I had've not had the major services conducted by a registered mechanic they would have an argument!

I feel they are just pushing me so I give up!

                              Very frustrating!
