Have mentioned b4, this problem kept us busy while toyoda pretend everything is ok.
Now they were exposed over & over, finally they announced the customer service exercise, Feb 2015.
This quietened the copper seat problem progressively.
Naturally more of the 500,000+ 1kd's are being worked on.
It's really increasing the piss poor practises some bodgys use when working on your vehicle.
Not cleaning injector ports, re-using seated/sheets, poorly torqued Injectors.
See the black on bottom of these seats? Put in on top of messy back gunk.
It caused blow by, & took out another 1kd in a Hilux.
Regular stuff these days.

Stu did you have any luck with the court register - I've just spent $12k replacing an engine and despite the car being serviced by Toyota Dealers or registered Mechanics right through to the 160km mark, Toyota say they wont help because a customer service exercise wasn't followed up. This was 8 days after the 160km service and there was not instruction from Toyota regarding the potential severity of the failure to comply.Originally posted by SlidinStu View PostComment

So I bought a 2007 GXL (3rd Owner) having driven them regularly on mine sites and my 100 series was no longer suitable. All was going smoothly until the engine seized at 165km mark. long story short - on the 3rd April the engine seized because loss of oil feed, pick up completely blocked by crystalized diesel that had seeped from faulty injector seals. I have replaced the engine a total cost of ~$12k and following much of the advice from this thread collected the complete service history (seals never replaced though all done by Toyota mechanics or registered as scheduled) and gone to Toyota Aus. and Melville Toyota whom both have advised that the cannot help because:
1. The warranty on the vehicle has expired 6 years ago - 5 years before I took possession of the vehicle.
2. The customer service exercise was not ever followed up on - Apparently on 22nd Jan I received a call on this 8 days after the 160km service (13th Jan 2016) that he car was due for a service. I do have some recollection of the call and there was not instruction from Toyota regarding the potential severity of engine damage (or any potential damage) with the failure to get the car in or any imperative need to have I done immediately - I wasn't even told it what it was for. The dealership were told hat he car had just been serviced just before hand.
Today, less than an hour after being informed by both Toyota Melville and Toyota Aus. I receive an email indicating my vehicle has 2 (customer service) exercises outstanding - After further investigation I can confirm that there are two outstanding exercises on your vehicle for the injector nozzle seat and also the tow bar (I will book it in).
We advise that you contact your local dealership quoting your VIN to see if they have parts in stock, these exercises will be carried out at the onus of Toyota.
I can tell you I am not a happy camper (or customer) and will be pursuing this matter further. if there is anyone else beside Stu and myself currently going through the same measures please do no hesitate to contact me and perhaps presenting a united front we can all get some reimbursement from Toyota on what clearly seems to be a manufacture fault. any help or advice beyond what has already been provided to Stu in this thread so far will be greatly appreciated thanks.Comment

Hey guys, my apologies for my late reply! I did take Toyota to court, I did get so money out of them. Darthdad, more than happy to tell you everything! I will PM you my mobile number. Bloody Toyota!
I will update my thread next chance I get with what the outcome was to help any other poor blowby victims.

Popped up on my Facebook, local Toyota dealers page today a Hilux D4D with 978000km, claimed original engine, only serviced by the dealer with genuine parts. Not a bad run ! 22k shy of a million kms.Comment

Hi Folks, as I said in my last response I'll keep you posted - I had the pre-trial conference today and the matter is still not resolved at present. I am not allowed to discuss what went on in the conference so unfortunately I can't help anyone with what went on. Pistons cracking all over a.t.m, not bad injectors, power upgraded!!!
Hks, steinbauer, ecu shop +30% injectors, popopopopopopopboom !!!!
Pistons are the weak link people, so keep you injectors fresh, & no power upgrades, unless your captain risky :-)
