My original calcs were here
Over 100,000kms:
8.5 x 1000 @ $1.527 (cheapest diesel SOR for me) = $12,979
11.5 x 1000 @ $1.397 (cheapest ULP SOR for me) = $16,065
This was using manufacturer figures, also calculated for cheapest day of week and also when diesel was more expensive. Diesel is now cheaper and if you fuel up on any other day of the price cycle the benefit of diesel is even greater.
FYI - Diesel was 1.29 the other day when I filled up and ULP was 1.40 - neverlone if you wanted to run 95 or 98 ULP !!
I still stand by my previous comment, diesel is better for high km's drivers, heavy towing and resale. As I do 30-40k per year and have the car on lease, it made sense to go diesel.
However, having driven the V6 on numerous occasions I would love the overtaking punch of the V6 any day of the week !!
