Pop quiz - the rim below has obviously rolled along the road at least a "little bit" without the tyre on. It was attached to a Tvan camper trailer (approx 1100kgs) at the time and was being driven along the main dirt road to Cape York - mixture of smooth & corrugated sections - at 60-80km/h.
What is the minimum distance you think it has travelled without the tyre? Bonus points* for ideas of how far you have to drive with a flat tyre for it to shred and fall off like the one below. Note that the tyre was found up the road from the rim.
Tyre was mounted with the white writing on the inside:
I'll explain more in a week or so what happened. I'm interested in peoples opinions without me adding in my ideas.
