  • One more 150 to the blown motor list

    Looks like another injector fault dropped a cylinder just outta Darwin switched off within 200m but pulled injectors found one leaky and no compression in number 3 cylinder think she's rooted with 68000 on the clock I'll pull the head off in the morning and find out for sure.
    May be in the market for a new motor if anyone knows of any about

      If you could pease provide some info,

      Seems to be lots up your way at low Klm's too.
      When was your last injector diagnostic & what readings were they at?
      What year is the vehicle?
      Toyota may assist, it's worth asking.
      From the story's I've heard don't get a rebuild.
      New long motor from Toyota with injectors in the 9k range plus fitting.
      What was your symptoms?
      Any noise? Rough? Smoke, or nothing till she was running on 3

        68,000km is very premature and is concerning. Has there been any modifications to the motor?

          Hope toyota assists. If everything was serviced as per the service manual, doesn't 3yr/100,000 km warranty cover driveline issues?

            My 150 had less than 40000k on it when I complained of loud injectors on cold mornings. Despite Toyota claiming nothing would be wrong I demanded a cold start injector test... Sure enough #3 was out of spec. The injectors do go early.. My engine is still fine at 50000k but I did stump up for the full 150000km 5 year warranty. That way, I'll never need to worry!

                Who is running Chip-IT? I ran one briefly but pulled it off after hearing how loud the injectors were when cold and realising how much it over pressurised the rail.

                I would imagine it would definitely contribute to injector failure.

                          There wasn't any symptoms at all up till it dropped a cylinder no smoke ran fine it's 2010
                          Haven't had an injector check it's something I've been meaning to get to for ages

                            Is it just me or does it seem that more 150's have went at low kms compared to the 120's? (based on the small numbers on this forum of course)
