ARB Deluxe Winch Bar - Now which Winch - VRS or Runva?

Hi Guys,

Just after a bit of help on which winch to choose & if there is anything I need to keep an eye out for when fitting it to the 120 with the ARB Deluxe winch bar? Do I need a different hawse?

I was after one with Synthetic Rope and was leaning towards the VRS 12500 ($1,150), but have now just read a few good things about the Runva's (EWX12000 - $750) being pretty good.

First things first, should I be going with a 12,500 or the 9,500 & which would be the better of the two VRS or Runva?

Hi Sean I fitted the runva 11xp to an arb bar with synthetic rope. It fitted in no problem and there is room to mount the control box behind the bar on the 120 if you want it out of sight. I believe runva have the best warranty for submersion in water and you should pay no more than $650 for this winch . You will need an offset hawse which is about $50. This is how I mounted mine.

I've just purchased a Runva 11xp, 30m poly rope, hard and wireless remote for $600 from Powerful4x4 for my Rock Armour bullbar, no mods required. I believe no winch is waterproof but Runva have a solid and lengthy warranty... we'll see!

I also use the 11 xp mate has a warn the xp seems to pull better and better warranty, Warn you pay for the name.

Hey I have an ARB bar and bought the RUNVA EWX1200 about 12 months ago. It's been a great winch and fits no problem (ull need an offset fair lead)

Having my time again tho id get the EWX9500Q Competition. Specially on the Prado it's not likely I'll ever use the additional 2500lb of pull power (can always double line through a block) but every time you use the winch I would use the extra speed the 9500 offers
