Due to many requests I've come up with a design to protect the transfer case and actuator. It was was a bit of a mission because there is nothing close by to bolt to to stop the guard flexing up. Just extending the guard back is pretty useless so I designed some cross members to bolt to the chassis. Its pretty chunky because of the span across the chassis rails.
I don't think many bash plates protect the actuator by transferring the load to the chassis. Most attach to the gearbox housing itself.
I still need to think about drainage and oil plug access but here is the design I've ended up with.
Hey Tin,
I would also be interested in these plates, especially with the extra cover at the rear for the trans and actuator.
Reading all the praise from other forum members about your quality of work I'm sure this new idea will be no different.
Do you know if your design would fit Prados with a diff drop fitted?
Hi Tin, just an update to let you know I no longer need any. I've bought the Powerful 4x4 ones on sale, too good to miss at that price for 4mm steel.
Thanks, and will still be following your other innovations.
Got the first samples back this arvo. Plates fit up first go and will only require a few minor adjustments.
First thing I noticed was the extra ground clearance over my old plates. The side wings fit nice and snug too. All mounting bolts tucked away for nice smooth bottom.
Still undecided about the extra bit to cover actuator. Cross members will add a fair bit of cost. Might just make up an actuator guard that bolts to the transfer case like some other offerings.
Nice and neat, looks like it has about the same clearance as the ARB one with the lowest point at the K-frame between the bell housing and front a-arm.
Hows development going for the 150Tin. Keen to look at a set plates. The actuator guard can come separately so not worried about the extension for that.

Getting something to cover the transfer case and actuator has distracted me a bit. I've decided to make the transfer case guard a separate plate. I'll finalise the sump and transmission plates and get a small batch made. I'll keep you posted.
