GME TX3120S Frequency Range?

Hi guys,

I am looking to by a new UHF and thinking bang for buck in quality brand would be the GME TX3120S. However looking at the model comparisons this one has a range of 476.425 - 477.4125MHz while the other GMEs use this range 403-520MHz. What does this mean to me?

It will mostly be used off road camping and through the bush on tracks.

For general use the GME TX3120S will be sufficient. 476.425 - 477.4125MHz is the allocated range for citizen band uhf transceivers .
The higher priced radios have the ability to program other frequencies between 403-520MHz (used under license by the GRN, many companies and large venues, eg football stadiums, for private communications) for RECEIVE only if you know exactly what frequency or have lots of time to monitor the radio in scan mode
