  • Maxtrax Pioneer Rack mounts

I have a set of brackets to mount the Maxtrax and shovel on the side of the roof rack. I wanted the option to store them on the top of the rack for when I'm just out on the tracks and not carrying camping gear. Normally would use straps and tie them down, which is a bit of a pain.

I made myself some brackets so I could attach the Maxtrax to the Pioneer rack using the Maxtrax mounting pins. Looks sort of like a rear wing when I mount it across the rack. I also allowed for mounting along the length of the rack.

Looks good. I browsed further through your pictures and saw your water tank. Looks very impressive, did you custom build that yourself? How big is it?

Wasn't too sure how much interest I'd have for these. Traxrax seem pretty popular.

Probably be around the $80 mark without the maxtrax pins.

Very good work. Maybe interested although just gone and bought flush Prorack Whispbars (Crossbars). Just wondering if side mounted, would the bracket nuts and bolts go into the Whispbar channel?? From memory the channel (whispbar) take a T Nut M8 and/or M6 21.43 x 4.4 TJM supplied brass Hex Nut. I dare say I could source them myself?

Traxrax or these pioneer rack mounts, they still would not allow me to go into my garage with the Maxtrax on or even off.....sort of why I've never purchased....???

Edit..what I'm saying is are the channels in the pioneer platform very similar to the Whispbar so they receive a similar T Nut (M8 or M6)?

I'm guessing that they are raised as the threaded part of the pin doesn't align with the gaps in the platform and would hit the platform?? It appears in the second pic that the pins may line up with the gaps but might hit if mounted on the side?

Hey guys, thought I'd share some pics of the brackets that Tin made up for me and another member from the FJ Cruiser Club.

Another quality product from the Tinman. Keep it up buddy!
