    • I figured I'd check in after running the KO2s for about 6 months. I've done about 10,000k on them, including a trip to Adele's Grove and a round trip from Mount Isa to Brisbane and back. I'm running 40psi on the highway and down to 26psi on the tough dirt tracks.

Still very happy with the tyres. They've resisted chipping very well (especially post Adele's Grove, the road up there isn't nice on tyres, and our convoy had 4 flats amongst 3 other cars) and wet bitumen performance is very predictable. Mine did wear a bit crooked on the front at the start, but that seems to have calmed down now, but I fear that might be my alignment more than anything. Road noise isn't an issue, and off road performance has been stellar. A friend of mine fitted some to his 100 series at the same time and on the few 4wd club runs we've been on up here they haven't broken a sweat on rocky climbs and in mud crossings.

They appears to be wearing very well, and they look like I'm on track to have a nice long life out of these (although I'm only 10k in).

      Very happy owner.

        • Fitted 70's to my 120 last weekend. No rubbing in wheel wells but even with removal of plastic backing on rear door the tyre was touching the paintwork. Hopefully AMTS can help out with spacer. My speedo is now under-reading by 4km/h tested against 2 GPS machines. I.E showing 96kms/h is actually 100kms/hr. The motto from now on is "take off 5" and I know I'm safe.
Noticing now that 100k/h is now at 2100rpm instead of the normal 2200 RPM in top gear (4 gear auto)

          • Anyone put over 50,000 on their ko2's yet, how're they holding up? And for those in Perth where did you find the best price?
            Cheers

                • After a 4x4 training weekend at Yarck (TLLCv), which involved some bog holes, mud, and lots of forest tracks with stick rocks here and there, I have a slow puncture in my new KO2 ATs (3 months old). Not happy, it takes about 2 days to get it down from 50 to 10. I will put in some slime next time it goes down, before I pup it up to 50 again and see if that holds. Currently I am not in a mood to take change the wheels and take it to a tire place for repairs.
First puncture since I have bought the car, was with KOs ATs which were pretty old, but never punctured them. Ripped bits and peaces out of them, but no punctures.

sure it is not just a bit of grit or stick under the bead which is not uncommon if the tyre pressure was lowered when out 4wheeling

                        • Do it sooner rather than later. If grit is left in the bead too long it eventually chafes the bead, wearing it away and making the tyre rubbish. You can't repair a damaged bead

I've had this problem before, ended up having to remove the tyre from the rim and clean out all the cr@p before re-mounting the tire on the rim.

That bog-hole at Yarck killed my starter motor, that or the "river" crossing (which was fun with the steep exit BTW). It's a great asset to the club that property.

                            • Just had 5 fitted today. Tyreplus Burliegh heads $329, Including a wheel alignment and free rotation at 10k. The guys removed the plastic backing without me saying anything about rubbing on the rear door. BJ tyres quoted $355 plus $ wheel alignment.

                              • Had mine on for a few weeks now but only just got a chance to see how they went in the bush, after a run around up the scarp east of mandurah on some pretty rough old logging tracks/rocky clay descents and climbs and I'm happy as Larry with how they went, loving them on road as well very surprised they are quieter than my KO's were.
