  • Adrian's MY14 (facelift) GXL

G'day all, have been haunting the forum for a few years reading, learning and getting ideas.

Previously had a Prado 120 V6 VX, but now have a new Glacier White 150 GXL D4D.

Had it optioned prior to delivery with:
    > ARB deluxe winch bar
    > ARB front recovery point
    > ARB underbody armour
    > Safari snorkel
    > OME lift - went the 30mm option (EK2103A6 - 400kg to GVM, which ended up being 45mm after fitting) so I could get in the carpark at work
    > Toyota towbar

Within 48 hours of picking it up I'd swapped the BFG A/T's (265/70/17) off the 120 with the stock tyres.

The old 120 VX on the 2014 Endeavour Rally enroute to Cameron Corner.

The new 150 GXL straight out of the showroom.

    The old and the new.

Since then I've installed a 12000lb winch and fitted the UHF, awning and roof racks from the 120. Also grabbed one of Tin's 'cargo' barriers - works a treat.

Finally got a chance to take it off-road during the last school holidays at Gordon Country - great fun!

Had my father-in-law build me a set of drawers and fridge box - so a quick 16 hour drive to Bowen to finish them and fit them was required. I needed something that could just bolt down on top of the rear seats that could be installed/removed in about 15 minutes as we use the rear seats a lot. Didn't want something that required an hour in the shed to set up before I started loading. From memory all of the slides are rated to c120kg extended.

    Final stages:

And fitted (fridge slide takes a 45Lt Engel fridge/freezer):

And yesterday the Rhino Rack Pioneer Platform (42102B - 1928mm x 1236mm) went on - fairly easy, all those years of putting together flat pack furniture when living in the UK has paid off!

And that's where I'm up to.

    Things left to do:
    > Diff and transfer case breather extensions
    > Sort out dual battery system - have an arcpak but need to find a spot to fit it.
    > Work out where to fit everything when we head for Central Australia and the Simpson later this year!
    > Some lights - LED lightbars or Lightforce 240XGT plus some camp lights on the platform

Awesome looking 150 mate, great set of upgrades too. Is your father in law willing to knock up a set of drawers and ship them to perth?

Thanks El Poids. I've got a bunch of mates after a set too! I guess 50 years of being a builder / cabinetmaker / carpenter make things easier.
