  • ARB Underbody Protection Instructions 120 Series

    G'day

Im new to the forum so apologies if this has already been discussed.

I'm currently fitting the ARB underbody protections plates to my 2004 120 Diesel and was wondering if anyone had any issues with the instructions?

In particular the last step where the final plate bolts up to the ARB bracket on the transmission cross member. My final transmission plate bolts up perfectly in the last row of slots to the transmission bracket. Which is great but the instructions say thats where the 150 series should bolt up and the 120's should bolt up about 2 inches behind where it is. Which means all the plates need to move 2 inches back to the rear of the car.

Which I can't see being possible

Have I missed something obvious ?

Any photo's of 120's with ARB underbody protection would be great please.

My Prado has a sovereign bull bar if that makes any difference.

    Cheers

    Leo,

I don't have the ARB plates, but if they fit well I would leave it at that. I assume there are now no obviously exposed parts underneath.

      Leo,

I installed mine with a mate ( he restores and builds/customises all manner of vehicles), and when we were under there it fit extractly at all area. Unfortunately I'm at work and can't look and photograph for you.
As stated if it all fits them do it up.
If still needing a pic I will be home in 10 days or so and can try to send, but I imagine you'll be done by then

      Pierre

Yep Corigator, all vunerable parts are covered and it fits well, so I think your right I will leave as is. Just the instructions have thrown some doubt in my mind. Cheers

Thanks for the help and the photo's Kimboprado, I've put the plates on and they look right and feel solid and no rattles when driving out bush so now to test them out ;-)

Kim the photo of your car shows the bolts where the instructions indicate they should be. But mine fit in the slotted holes at the rear of that plate
But I don't have an exhaust pipe to deal with there so that could be the difference.

            Cheers Leo
