I'm in the same boat as you Retreads, in that I am no bush mechanic.... Hopefully with proper planning and preventative maintenance should be able to avoid anything major going wrong (fingers crossed...). How is the trip planning going Anders? Does it sound like this trip will be definitely going ahead??
Was chatting with the boss at work today, and will need to submit my annual leave request soon if I want this time off next year.

I am still in, now about 70%
I have dropped the idea of the trailer, this meaning that I will need to get a roof rack. Still not 100% sure, though, depends on what is going to happen (there are some family things that seem to be going to happen around then, so I hope they will not). I do not have a winch (just a hi-lift with recovery pack - so I can use it as a hand winch), and also only have crappy 3 way aldi fridge. So might have to think about a proper fridge and get my dual battery setup sorted out. Hmm..Comment

Aldi fridge they seem to work ok and at least you can run them on gas out of the car . Don't worry to much about not having a winch, we should have enough if needed .Originally posted by Borec View PostComment

Had some rumours circulation around the Den about a trip to Cairns next year.
This would include.
:Some time spent with friends whom live in Woree.
:An inspection of DHA property in Bently Park.
:The CREB track as missed it in 2010.
:A trip to the Tip.
The G-woman has even had leave approved for Independence day, (4/7/16)
I don't no whether it's worth filling in a request form for that far into the future, the way things have been at my place of work.
May just become a Professional Tourer.
