Just take it to the dealer, they will plug in awhatsy thingo, it will tell them the thingymajig is stuck and to press three buttons and jane's your aunty. Oh, its not covered under warranty because there are sticky kids handprints on the knobs and a piece of toast forced into the cd slot.
At least you problem is fixable, my navigation problem is beyond fixing, just ask anyone that was in my group during the 2012 GTG. The group gave better directions than my "navigation unit"Bitumen: A blatant waste of taxpayers money!

Cheers MLC.
It appears like the OS for the unit has corrupted itself...2012 Pearl White VX, 3.0 Litre D4D Auto, Wynnum 2.5T Tow Bar, OME Lift, TJM Airtech snorkle, TJM diff breathers, Redarc EBRH, Projecta DBC100K, Lightforce XGT, EBC Nudge bar, Custom Recovery Points, TG150, ARB compressor, Pioneer Platform, Kaymar #K7123 /CDQ2195, 697 A/T's, Tin's DC trans cooler, MaxTrax on TraxRax, TJM DBS, Piranha Tray...

I have had this exact error in my 2010 Kakadu. My particular issue was the the DVD nav disc under the passenger seat (Kakadu) was not being read correctly. If you have the battery disconnected for a while (i.e one hour), the Nav system loses its memory and needs to load again from the disc when the battery is reconnected and the car ignition is turned on again - you get a loading screen for 10-20 seconds. If the disc has an issue this error appears. Is the 2012 VX Nav system a disc based system like my 2010 Kakadu? - I thought Toyota moved to a SD card based system around that time for the Prados.
The error may appear for other reasons too obviously. I can only describe my own experience.
For my issue I removed the disc manually by pulling the DVD-ROM drive apart - however I've since found out that you can force the ejection of the disc when you see the consult dealer error by pressing the bottom left and then the top right of the touch screen or something like that. I found this issue on a Lexus owner's forum. I haven't tried this method but others had success on these lexus forums.
Hope that helps.
Edit - the touch screen DVD soft eject sequence is top right then bottom right (of the screen) apparently.Last edited by MacroP; 18-04-2015, 04:58 PM.

The soft eject sequence worked and once the disc went back in the unit fired back up.
