Replacing manual box with auto - how hard?

Hi

My wife has just had knee surgery and can no longer drive a manual box car very well.
Having spent a ton of preventative maintenance money on our manual TD90, I'm very reluctant to sell it to buy an auto.
Has anyone replaced their manual trans with an auto? How hard is this to do?
Obviously I'll need the transmission and some interior trim. Guessing the ECU is different plus whatever controls the trans...

Any info appreciated.

Ecu, engine harness, the main harness is different but can be used
The autos are hard to get box and transfer can be used from a 120 1kz car
And if your really good at wiring you can use a auto ecu from a 1kz also

Same box early 120 1KZ cars ran the same one a343f electronic controled
My 90s got one but is is running a 120 ecu also
