  • Battery Charge levels.

I am putting in a dual battery system in the long term, but at thee moment am thinking about running a battery discharge protector
    http://www.roadtechmarine.com.au/Pow...ector/p/TEA786
The fridge will only be in the car for a short three day trip and am happy if the fridge is not running if motor is off.
The BDP can be set for a number of settings from 10.4 to 11, 12, 13 volts.
As a short term fix will be plugging into the power outlet in the rear.
Long term will be full 0B&S cable with a distributor box. to run fridge and compressor.
    What setting do you suggest?
BTW The dual battery will be going in before September for a Fraser trip

    Regards

    Gerry

What fridge do you have? Some have built-in discarge protection negating the need for such a device. Is the power outlet in the rear just a 12v ciggy lighter socket? The cabling to those is pretty thin and may not be up to the task.

Yes that is a reasonable figure for a deep cycle most try to keep above 50% SOC,
in my case I run a Marine pro and as these are relatively cheap happy to take it
to 30% SOC and where the reduced life cycles.
