    Hi Foxclan

I too have the same unit, and had the same issue. I had to take out the Blue and white wire which is for the power antenna (I think as this was last year), it now has sound but the radio loses station very easy on mine. I have tested it with the old radio starker and the radio is the same. Has anyone else had the same issue?

      Hey Peter,
When I did mine, i just had to buy the aerial adaptor kit from Toyota and didnt have any issues with sound or anything... A mate did his also, but the sound wont come through until the earth bolt on the main loom is installed as the speakers earth through it. I have found my reception to be better with the new unit, so i am not sure what happened with yours Peter G.

      Total Parts list:
PZQ60-00525 (non sat nav) or 535 (sat nav) head unit
PZQ60-00161 Aerial adaptor kit ($22 from Toyota)

      Optional:
PZQ60-00141 steering wheel control & reverse camera adaptor kit ($16 from Toyota)

I ordered my head unit from China. The navigation and camera also working well. All was sent with DHL from China in two weeks, with online tracking.

Can you post a photo of the rear camera please? Can use the camera with a non-Toyota head unit such as Pioneer?

I was wondering if it attaches the same way that cheap Chinese cameras do, as replacement to one of the rear license plate lamps.

Hi, I am doing a similar retro fit. My radio is the PZQ60-00537.

I bought the adaptor PZQ60-00161 and the steering controls 00141. Everything works apart I get no sound! You mention above that I need to install the earth bolt on the main loom. Could you clarify that, what main loom?

                  Thanks

                  Dave

Hello tappets. I also had same problem replacing the PZQ6000041 with a PZQ6000531 unit in my 2008 GXL. I think the 531 and 537 are very similar. I found it was the single black wire on LHS of the head unit. The connector is mounted on side of radio separate to other connectors. This is to power the antenna amp. The connections of the 2 radios differ slightly. On the newer 531 unit pin 8 of the 16pin connector is Tmute and on the older radio pin 8 is for antenna +. When connected, using later head unit, it will mute the head unit, so get no sound. You need to disconnect at connector. To power the amp use the spare blue wire from the antenna adapter and connect to the black wire socket to the power amp. The other end of the black wiring connected to pin 8 of the 16pin connector to radio is not needed. I am very pleased with the 531 head unit which has been a fantastic upgrade to my vehicle. Cheers Rod

Could I get a copy of the instructions as well? I"ll PM you my email...

Guys does anyone know if you can put 2 camera feeds into these head units? Am thinking about one for the Prado and one for the caravan. Has anyone done that? I'd like to be able to switch between the two cameras via an on-off-on switch to control the power source.

Haven't done it but the stereo will take 1 video feed. The switching would be external. This switcher unit will also need to provide switched power to the camera on the van.

                            Edit: eg switcher

Scroll down to the review comments where someone has written this:
Unit arrived quickly. Instructions are for detectives. I've used a tester and labeled wires to assist future buyers who might not be as electrically able.

I'll try to explain how this works. The yellow RCA connectors are permanently connected and require no trigger. So you remove your existing reverse camera connector from your head unit, (you'll need a female gender mender), and connect it to the male yellow connector that I labeled REVERSE.

Then connect the female yellow connector to the head unit where you removed your reverse camera connector from (you'll need a male gender mender this time). They obviously placed these inverted. Now even without connecting any wires your reverse camera will work as normal.

You can now connect 2 other cameras and run the corresponding trigger wires to a switch to supply 12 VDC to switch on as needed.

The red trigger wire allows signal from red RCA input to go to head unit, and the purple does the same for the camera connected to the white RCA.

Even if you have one of the cameras switched on, and select reverse gear, it will automatically give priority to the reverse camera through the yellow connector.

Hope this helps. I took away 1 star for the inverted connectors and poor instructions.

I set it up on mine for caravan when we did our lap
Van camera was wired to the AUX channel of head unit so i could have a live feed all the time while driving but Reverse
camera on car over rides everything on my unit when you put in in reverse because of it being wired to reverse sensor so i wired it to a rocker switch ,( basic on/off) so can turn the car camera off when reversing van.

plenty of ways to do it GL

Well I spent two weekends installing my new head unit but the OEM camera is not working. Everything else works beautifully, good sound but no camera. When I first put it in reverse gear the unit gave me an error message that the reverse camera had not automatically connected. Note it only did this once.
Looking at it again last night one of the plugs on the ZQ60-00141 steering wheel control & reverse camera adapter kit has no where to plug in on the Headunit

Have I got the correct adapter wiring loom for the PZQ60-00523 (non sat nav) head unit? Any advice gratefully accepted.
