    Het,

Outback Armour are an offshoot from TJM. One of the old TJM managers took a bunch of engineers and started Outback Armour.

As such, I believe their struts/shocks are an identical design to XGS Gold, so they should be similar in terms of valving.

      Hi Mark & Aido,

I am said person who started Outback Armour.

Actually we would not consider ourselves an offshoot of TJM, however we were there for close to 7'ish years.

It is a long story, but our engineers have close to 60 years combined experience engineering suspension.

When we started Outback Armour we could have used the same designs as before, however we chose to re-engineer from the piston level up including the valving... then all the coil springs and leaf springs...

In fact, we pulled every car apart measured and rated every oem shock, coil and leaf spring before we started.

Regarding new valving, it is not the same as TJM nor anyone else... it is developed specifically for each vehicle.

      Happy to answer any questions.

Aido, do you know our friends at Murchisons?

      Regards,
      Richard

Wolf 4x4 sell outback armor isn't that right?

I have fitted heaps of outback armor kits to amaroks at work. Suspension was great!

Hey Aido. I've been running outback armour for about 6 months and very happy with it. Had EFS prior to this and the ride is noticeable better plus the car sits a lot flatter as you can adjust the front ride height to allow for accessories. The EFS ran nose down after not very long at all.

The O'armour gear gives a reasonably plush ride though a little firmer than std and has IMO better valving than the EFS gear especially in the front. Use to get a double hop over decent sharp bumps. Cornering is better than std though she's still no race car but hey, it's a Prado.

Overall I'm very happy with the upgrade and especially the ride height improvement. With bullbar, battery and winch I'm running I think 15mm of spacers and went for the softer springs. Can get you some measurements if you like.

My father-in-law went from TJM to Outback armour and the ride was great even with 20"x9" rims and 45 profile LT tyres (as an experiment). At that point suspension plays a big role in ride comfort and it handled superbly albeit a tad firmer.
