5 door VS 3 door - space and comfort question

My ZR is awesome, installed OME suspension and the ride now is amazing, many extras almost too many to mention you will love the car but not a family car due to the restrictive access to the back seats, have had passengers and they had plenty of room.

My SX ride improved a lot after Top Dog adjustable suspension with airbags in the back. Took out the back seats and installed custom Drifta draws

Drawers with wings and fridge drop slide. Above right hand drawer is a slide table. At the back of the drawers behind the seats I installed a shelf like you see in wardrobes. Also there is the 120AH dual battery. beneath the battery box is a 45L plastic water tank in the rear footwell with attached 12V pump.

I have just put in the Steinbauer chip. Will see what difference it makes on a trip to Arkaroola in May.

Noticeably easier to get going and up hills when towing. Also off road up steep hills was a lot better. Seemed only marginal fuel economy improvement when towing. Around town fuel usage went up, so I don't use it there - I got the disable switch installed

Havent driven a 5 door , but compared to the Navara we had it is way more comfortable to drive and certainly better around town , love the turning circle and wife enjoys driving this a lot more . We rarely have people in the back seats ,and if its for a family might be a issue ,maybe 5 door better for this . We bought an SX , but think the extra for a ZR would have been worthwhile if budget can stretch a bit further .

We have two kids and they love the back of our 2008 SWB Prado, in fact, it is even more spacious than the 5 door Prado we had.

The question is - do you absolutely need the long range tank...
Can you solve it by carrying extra Jerry cans?

I will do that for sure, I simply cannot afford a long range tank, and I am only out on 3-4 long trips per year, so one Jerry can should do for emergencies.
