Well you've saved me a heap of searching the net - we only get 8GB a month and youtube chews it up quickly. Mind you the list above made a nice dent in that! Thanks for the links, plenty of 'burble' in there and tyre smoke!

    Cheers,
    Mark.

The only thing i would be concerned about is.... would a hilux extractor fit a prado?? i know they would bolt up to the motor perfect by what about the rest of the piping.

I run a Pacemaker extractor set up with a custom 2.5" system back to a large rear muffler. This provides a nice low V8 like burble but is probably too loud when on the gas pedal. Mind you, this is nicely droned out by the pleasant supercharger whine I can assure you the early Australian 90 series do not run cats or O2 sensors.

The importance of a free flowing exhaust is shown by the comparison between another member here on PP and my Prado. Same supercharger, same ECU, measured on same dyno. Difference is that he runs the standard exhaust. His supercharger is working much harder (approx 2lb higher boost per rpm) through the rev range to produce the same power. Supercharger working harder = more power drain to drive it.

One of these days I'll put up some video.

Cheers Ab's 97...... Though it was the bolt on exhaust system I was referring to (redback dont make one for petrol 3.4lt).
Seems to be quiet a decent selection of extractors to choose from, and nothing to bolt them to!!

Pretty keen to find out more about this pacemaker system apparently coming out (oceanracer mentioned it)????
Anyone know when or suppliers that may stock it etc.
Although it is seeming more and more like the gain is made from the extractors alone, rather than the full system.

Ps.. correct people's, there is no cat on the factory system either.....can't believe I have never noticed this!!

                    oceanracer,

Yes!! you are spot on. I just got off the phone with the Victorian supplier for pacemaker, he made some calls as he had not heard anything of the sort and got back to me with..........
"Yes, they are bringing one out, it is still in R&D everything is ready to go except the main muffler was too loud and they are currently testing another in a vehicle for about 2 weeks."
I have decided to wait and go pacemaker right through.
The feedback on here has been great thankx for the input people, will post again once they're fitted.

                          An update from pacemaker

R&D got the Prado in on Monday and have designed a system. This will be tested by the owner of the vehicle over the next week or so to check it’s performance and noise levels at different speeds / road environments etc. Once this has been done we will look at getting the system in production.

I hope it all goes Ok with this one, then the whole system will be changed.

I've sent aemail but this was from a few weeks ago.

Just thought I would keep in touch. Unfortunately the R&D team are still not happy with the system they are working on for the Prado. They are trialling different mufflers which may take several weeks yet to complete. They are testing under different environments / towing etc which is the delay as we want to release a system that does everything we want under different conditions. They won’t be doing dyno’s on it, unfortunately we are not in a position to do this with everything we make, but rest assured we will not be releasing it until we are 100% happy with it. I will keep you informed.
