  • Suction Control Valve "recall"

Hi guys, has anyone else received their recall notice from Toyota this week advising to book their car in to remove and replace the suction control valve. If so how long does Toyota require the car for? Yet another problem to fix with the D4D motor!!

What does your letter say? What year model D4D do you have.

Changing the SCV is usually done post-injector change, have you changes the injectors or sheets with the dealer recently?
      Cheers

Hi Terry I have a late 2014 VX D4D with only 4500klms and contents of letter basically describes if the SCV fails the ECM detects a fault and puts the engine in limp mode. It goes on to say if this occurs shut the engine down and restart. I have it booked into my local Toyota dealer in early March.

          Hi Micheal
All I have done so far is book the car in for this recall in early March. The guys at Toyota were somewhat taken back .i.e not yet aware of this recall.
          Regards

You dont wont that - a faulty SCV probably wont have any suction...
                Cheers

.... my current point exactly........ it can only get better from here.

                      Quick Update:

First off, apologies to Muzz. On the serious side we would like to know how it worked out.

Now, I found a place where for a small fee you get to "test" various installed SCV's!!

Depending upon the unit it has been fitted too the prices can get a little hefty.
