Hi Disco,

Did they give you a clue ? "It won't be much" or something, I was talking to a broker and he says about $1000 extra but with SatNav standard. Is the Toyota satnav any good ?

I was going to wait for the runout deals but if I have to upgrade the SatNav I could buy now and put in SatNav with the $$ I save.

Not sure I want to be a guinea pig with the first release of a new motor if I am in a NP somewhere

They said they did not expect a large jump in price but would not know until the official release date. I am not sure on the SatNav

The problem with the Toyota Sat Nav is the cost of upgrading the maps. It makes it useless in my opinion. Out of date in a couple of years around here.

Interesting timing for me. Am changing jobs to a new role in early September and it comes with a Prado as company car. Hope the new model is available by then!

Also means I have a 2013 GXL for sale as well 😀

Prado with 2.8L with 6 speed will have DPF!!!!!!!!!!!! thank god my gamble paid off. bought one 3 week ago with 3.0L engine

There is nothing wrong with DPF systems if looked after right, they are much better than a EGR system but unfortunately people are scared of them. Scared because they don't understand them, scared because they think the service costs are too expensive and scared because it's "too hot and too dangerous". Sure, the early Nissan systems on Navara's were a little problematic, but the systems used on Isuzu and Hino trucks are awesome. Remember that Toyota will be using Hino truck technology for their DPF system. The only time I see a DPF play up is due to either the driver cancelling a burn or the vehicle not being maintained correctly. For what it's worth I already use a low saps low ash (DPF compatible) oil in my Prado, we charge it out at $1.20 per litre more than regular 15W40 oil, so would increase the service cost by less than $10!!!
