That is sweet Carlyle. The black looks mean, but yes.. its a PITA to keep clean and polish.

The Graphite is the best pick with the black rims. The white and silver looks crap (IMO) with black rims and should have stuck with the silver for those colours.

If I had the chance I would have went with the Graphite but they didn't have any left in OZ at the time so we settled with Silver with Silver wheels.

As stated it depends on what is fit for purpose. I recently went to Fraser for a week and didn't even look at the fuel gauge or carry fuel with me as 180Lt was more than enough. I'd say I could have got away with 90lt to be honest but not having to worry about it or the prise on the island was nice also.

If its a school run car makes no sense to have that much fuel option but if it is a travel or get away car then it can be a benefit.

I love your thinking thebigo... A Prado with 1 tank is now classified as a "school run car" lol. I wonder what real landcruisers and Patrol owners say about the whole Prado range... Me thinks "I wonabe 4x4" or "A glorified Toorak truck" maybe even.. the list could go on.

If you could have done Fraser on 90lt, why carry an extra 100lt (90kg of weight). I would have prefer to carry the extra weight in fishing/camping gear.

At the end of the day 1 less tank doesn't constitute the vehicle any lesser in performance then one with 2

I too am looking at the new Prado to tow a new caravan and unsure which one to select. Actually going tomorrow to get the final price but not sure if I opt for the Altitude or the VX. I like the free tailgate on the Altitude but really want the spare fuel tank. There seems to be about 6 to 8 thousand $$ difference.
The other spanner in the works is I have been told by 2 different dealers that a new model Prado is being released in June July this year and will have a higher towing capacity (much needed) and a smaller motor with more power and better fuel consumption.
O what a problem which way to go.

I wonder if that's why my local dealer is currently showing 25 brand new Prados on their books? They are a big dealership but I have never seen that many listed.

They look good I think- dark rims on white (sorry evltoy ), I'm trying to decided if I should paint or buy some after market alloys. Only problem is I want 6 rims total, its probably going to be cheaper to buy 6 instead of buying 1 extra original , remove my tyres, paint, re-fit the tyres. The $$$$ for 150 OEM rims is crazy!!

Mine are painted, 2-pack with satin clear finish. Does cost a bit to get done though, the one in my photo was ~$170. Looks great when new but they do get a bit scuffed and scratched out on the tracks. Others have done it with spray cans from the auto parts store but I had to match the 4 alloys on the car that were already done by the previous owner.

Does anyone know anything about the 1GD2.8 turbo diesel? Looks like it's replacing the 3.0l 1KD
