Buy GXL or Altitude or wait for new upgrade later this year

I am currently looking at the GXL compared to the Altitude I have heard that there is an update coming in October and am wondering what chance is it that the update will be major eg the new V6 diesel Engine that is coming to the Hilix? It is frustrating not knowing more info as after driving the current engine I would love an upgrade!
Talk of new Hilux for October. I heard of he October Prado update from the dealer.

With last upgrade in 2014 there is a small chance Toyota will do another in 2015. More likely end of 2016 or end of 2017 we will get a new model of Prado. Personally I would go for Prado GX 5 seater or Prado VX instead of GXL.

$68,520 plus onroads you should be able to get one in the low 70's to me the GXL is better value at the minute

The 2015 altitude is actually $65k on road because of the free trade agreement. Still about 6k more than a GXL but better value if you like toys.

72k drive away for altitude from Frankston toyota best they could do .... Do keep in mind u loose half your fuel tank for the sake off the tyre underneath.

I got my 2014 Altitude for $72k back in Nov. that with the high Tax, but through a mate of a mate.

Things to know
2014 only had 900 made. they went like hot cakes and wasn't much room for dealing being a special ED.
2015 has 1200 made. they have just came out so dealers will not budge as they have heaps in stock, but you have heaps of colours to choose from.

Don't buy early or when there is only a few around as the dealers do play hard ball. Its a fine balance to pick the right time.

With a GLX and VX there is more room to play as there is heaps of them in stock. I was able to get a new GXL for $58K drive away (cash) back in Nov and I was not even interested.

Gary at Fankston Toyota is a top bloke to deal with, very helpful, well mannered, polite and was the most genuine salesman of the lot I had dealing with! I wanted to buy off him but he didn't have an Altitude in stock when I was looking.

My thoughts exactly, it would want to be a fair bit.
