  • Grande with bilstein shocks

I have EFS shocks in the rear and EFS with king springs currently installed on my 120 prado. They are good when the Prado is loaded or towing my boat. But very stiff/hard ride when just traveling on the road. I have seen many of you on the forum have installed Bilstein shocks. I would like to soften up the ride when only driving on the road but have the option to stiffen up the suspension when off-road. Can anyone advise which shocks fit the 120 Grande and what your experience have been with them? The TERMS Toyota shocks that come std on the Grande were great on the road but not so good off road. They were adjustable but had to remove them when I did my lift.

All shocks that fit the other Prados fit the Grandes. You just have to be careful with the really long travel shocks due to the airbag popping out of its seat issue.

No, the 5100 are not adjustable in terms of the valving rate but has the circlip grooves to increase the height of the cpring seat if needed.

Yeah, I've got them and think they're good. So does this member : http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...l=1#post497854

These were for sale but can't find them in the For Sale section, (car written off). I'm lead to believe there is a bit of snobbery over suspension stuff. Personally I don't care. I reckon for most PP members they (T Dog) would be fine, but if doing some really serious stuff then maybe go for Caloffroad or Bilsteins? My only gripe is the adjustable knobs can get damaged/ knocked off and expensive to fix.

Hope it helps .BTW I have lifted ABM airbags so don't have too much worry with airbags (OE) popping out!!??

Thanks,macaroo1 yep seems every one had their own opinion on what they like. Im keen to get something like the TERMS adjustable shock that come STD in the Grande. So will look into the TDog. Where did you get the ABM airbags from in Brisbane? I have had mine pop out twice now with the EFS in place so may need to get a set of ABM airbags.

^ replied via PM. For others there is an ABM outlet in Brendale (round the corner from the 'famous'/helpful TJM). No affiliation. Just popped round there.
Peeps you can still buy OE bags cheaper than Tojo and use Amts Mk11 spacers to avoid aftermarket airbags.
