Bugger Bali, get out and see Australia before we sell it all to China.

I'd be concerned about mounting it in front of the windscreen which may reflect off both the windscreen and bonnet into the cab, effectively blinding the driver and making the light bar unusable.

I think "effectively blinding the driver" is a little strong, but I agree that there would be significant glare on the dash and bonnet from this setup causing annoyance to the driver and its occupants

          A side note to this:

Was away with a mate a couple of weekends back around the outskirts of Sydney when he got stopped by the highway patrol. The reason: driving light (LED bar) mounted on his roof.

He was given a defect notice for the light but thankfully a warning instead of a monetary fine.

The relevent legislation on the defect notice is:
          - ADR 13/00 section 7.3
          - Specifically section 7.3.4.3, which states the light must be fitted at the front of the vehicle.

Of note, he was also advised about section 7.3.2.1 which states lights must be in a combination of either 2 or 4. In this instance he was advised the legislation had not kept up with technology.

Even though this was in NSW the ADR's apply Australia wide.

          Edit:
The relevant ADR can be found here:
