    Hi Mark,

I tried them the other way but they dont work because there is a brace that go's from the chassis cross member to the bottom of the radiator that swaybar get blocked by

      • A good workaround would simply be set of adjustable sway bay links like those used in the back

Anyone know if these are available?

          Hey zero,

Unlike the rear swaybar, there's no need for longer swaybar links in the front, you can run up to a 3" lift without needing to lengthen the links.

You can still make adjustable links for the front, I've done this myself recently with rose joints, but I still use them at the same factory length.

Can you post up a photo of where the swaybar is hitting on the 150 chassis with the spacer blocks in?

          • F@#*!! Wife just reminded me that it is the long weekend coming up and we had booked on the great ocean road to go away with the caravan..... Guess that idea is out of the window since the car is still in pieces in the garage thanks to this debacle.... :-( :-( Little ones not going to be to impressed... Crap...

            • I'm assuming you haven't received the "rebuilt" struts back yet with the longer travel? (I got a little in the thread sorry).

My front end is 30mm higher than I want it, so I will take that into account when I do my measurements. So I need at least 60mm droop when at ride height? So I need at least 30mm where it is now? I thought I was paying this money to get something to fit and forget, not so unfortunately. Going to spend Saturday measuring my suspension all around and putting my second spare on, cause they are apparently really heavy and will help drop it down more than I expect.......
Have you had a wheel alignment done? Don't forget this is a wasted expense on your side through no fault of yours, I wouldn't be paying a cent for freight.
Hey Andy, Did you get around to checking your setup? Interested to know if I just got a raw deal or if they are actually jibbing other people as well.

                Cheers

And unless revalved, way too soft for us.

                      Back on to the original subject matter of this thread, the Amada Xtreme's are now looking like a much simpler off the shelf purchase from Superior! Their front struts are 405-575mm, rear shocks are 378-605mm. See here for more info;

                      http://www.superiorengineering.com.a...3_100_913_2137

I'd like to hear some more technical opinions from anyone running the Amada setup.

I was interested in the Amada struts a while back, but I decided not to purchase them due to build quality issues. I have heard first hand through the sales staff at Superior that the original Amada Xtreme strut design suffered badly with sealing, and that a triple sealing design had to be utilised.

I have also heard second hand through various forums that the Amada's have not gone well on outback journeys, and had to be replaced upon return. Poor valving??

This information was not at all inspiring for throwing money at them!

...on the other side of the coin, they apparently have some "comp pedigree" behind them, take that for what it's worth.

                      Any opinions??

Hi Mark, i have always found the U.S stuff to be very soft in it's valving compared to our Aus designed stock.
We have some unique road conditions in Aus from Washouts, Cattle grids to outback corrugations & from what i can gather of the majority of stuff that comes out of the States, they like driving a lounge suite wrapped in a marshmallow

                      Regards, Jason.

Give me the length of the links from centre of ball socket at each end & the bolt sizes and i'll see what i can get my hands on that may be an easy adaption.

                          Regards, Jason.

                            Hey Jason,

The Amada's are made in Thailand, and I'm not sure they have any USA connection?

I believe the Amada's are valved in-house at Superior Engineering, in particular for Patrols.

Is there a Yankee connection I'm unaware of??

                              • Just wondering if others that have bought a Cal Offroad 2" lift can confirm the parts that you got for your kit for your 150?
I've just received mine, and the rear coils are labelled as CSHDLXT and the fronts CSHLXLD, with the shocks being B46 1478 LT (24-237024) and 24-218528.

Just wanting to confirm before I look at fitting!
