Peak torque is at lower engine speed and for a range of revs, not just a peak number at 3,500 rpm or so.My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic

I wonder why the V6 got one and the diesel didn't?

The factory system seems to have a heat exchanger for the trans oil that sits inside the radiator, which leads a simple man to think that the oil needs to be at engine temp to work to design.
So an additional cooler before the exchanger in the radiator is pointless as the radiator may end up heating the trans oil.
A cooler after the exchanger in the radiator will be cooling the trans oil below design temp?
I remain somewhat confused

I installed the 678 2 weeks ago and very impressed with the brackets and overall performance of the cooler. I have a scangauge so monitor trans temps all the time. Prior to the cooler I have seen the trans temp reach 102degC on a 12 degC day while going up the freeway out of adelaide. The other day it only reached 89degC and ambient was 38C. Once up over the hill the temp dropped down to 76c within a Minute or so. General driving around town the temp is only in the mid 60's on warm days and usually around 80. Overall I'd say 15-20c reduction. Extremely happy and Well worth it.
Picked up my cooler for $120 in adelaide from outlaw speed shop.
Thanks Tin175 for the brackets.
