  • Chassis differences

    Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone knew of chassis variations in the 120 series.

I went to pick up a set of side steps for my Prado (2009, D4D, Auto) and the front mount point lined up with the cross member therefore requiring modification to fit. The side steps came off a 2004 V6 petrol auto so I assume the older gearbox or different flywheel position introduces subtle variations to the chassis.

    Is this correct?

    Cheers,

    Sam

Nothing to do with the age, it's the difference between petrol and diesel, the transmission crossmember is located in a different position on each.

    Cheers Andrew

        Thanks Andrew and Scott.

Just strengthens my case for a set from you Andrew which was the original plan. Priority is tyres and injectors over the next two weeks though.

That and the fact that the Diesel is one pot longer than the V6.
Toyota has repositioned the chassis cross member to accommodate the marrage of engine to transmission.
