Yep... bloody oath mate. I would never ever EVER buy a MSA drop fridge slide again. I spent hours trying to stop mine from rattling. Sent an email to MSA, they called me and tried to help over the phone. I had to bend the two tabs of metal at the back of the slide inwards (towards the fridge) it helped a little but it stills there. It also squeekes and bangs around. Even passengers in my car notice. I just crank my music.

My main complaint is the thing sounded like a toolbox full of spanners the day i bought it brand new. For $650 i am extremely disappointed and given up..

Good luck. Try the bending of the metal tabs, it's in the manual if you're unsure. IMO you shouldn't have to bend metal to stop it.

Yes. I think about it every day. And it is not good enough. I sent an email to MSA and they didn't reply.

I looked at them and gave one a shake in the showroom and thought they would rattle........I ended up with a plain slide.(off road down under)

Want to produce these to mate? As far as I'm aware there are only 2 drop slides on the market, the overpriced and rarely available Black Widdow and the not quite so over priced but still expensive rattle box MSA.

No not the slightest bit interested in making them for others, your post just confirms my reasons for not wanting to. It's my observation that many people have unrealistic expectations as to what things are worth, if I produced one it would also be "overpriced" as I am not interested in working for the hourly rate of a Chinese peasant in a sweat shop.

I posted this bit of info I found in an install thread I did a couple of years ago. My slide doesn't rattle so I've never had to test it to see if it works, but indications are its worked for others.

Ok I had the same problem with the rattle but an easy fix but a little finicky.

You will see that both side walls that pull out one wont touch the frame that is bolted onto your drawers the other will this is where you rattle is.

Find which one it is and GENTLY pull the frame 10 mm should be enough in the opposite direction

Do it correctly and rattle will miraculously disappear

Yep ours rattles as well, put an octopus strap from the handle to the back of the slide (when the fridge is not there) and the rattle has almost disappeared

Sorry mate, didn't mean to offend. Just to put it into perspective, black widdow charge over $1000 for one to suit a 40L engel, and it takes up 2/3 of the back of a prado. There's is well built, just very bulky and expensive. The MSA one isn't too expensive, the price is great but it rattles, that is my main gripe. If it didn't rattle around so much I would buy it in a heartbeat. It does its job, is easy to use and compact. Once again, sorry if I offended.

                      Cheers

Do you mean use a screw driver and bend it out - not sure what you mean by PULL it gently out.

No offence taken, its just one of my pet peeves lately, I see so many comments from people about things being a rip off, or over priced. They might be expensive, but that doesn't make things over priced. Unless you or I know exactly what goes into designing, manufacturing and marketing a product then making a call on whether its price is fair or not is little more than a wild guess.

One of the things you have to factor into the cost of these products is the legal bills, we live in a world now that when someone designs something great a rip off version is coming out of China a few weeks later. It costs a lot of money to develop a product, it costs a whole lot less to steal someone else's idea and then sell an inferior copy for less money, then everyone says the original is an over priced rip off.

Anyway that's enough of a rant from me.

                            Cheers Andrew

Sorry, I could have been a little clearer, the info wasn't mine, I found it on another forum - 4x4 Earth I think? My slide doesn't rattle (if it does I cant hear it ) so I haven't put the idea to the test.

I know the sales manager for MSA is/was a member of Pradopoint, I think he signed on when he heard about the issues I raised in my install post http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...ght=drop+slide He contacted me directly to discuss my issues and was keen to sort the problems out, I think I may still have contact details if anyone is interested.
