  • In the market for a snorkel?!

Gday all, im looking for a snorkel kit for my 1kzte? I know safari are thought to be the best but ive come across a cheaper alternative that ive read great and ok reviews about. Its Dobinsons, never having used anything by them im wanting to get some advice whether to fit a dobinsons or spend the extra money and go safari. Just to say my prado has no mods yet.. ive just come into a thousand or so bux and wanted to spend it on the car. Would snorkel be up there on the list of 1st few mods? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I've only recently bought my prado and haven't modified it yet... However my old Hilux had safari snorkel and a few other mods like bigger wheels, suspension lift and dual batt. Safari have a great reputation and I don't know of anyone who has anything bad to say about them. So basically it's whether you can afford to pay for the reputable brand or go with the cheaper option... not saying the cheaper option is bad though because I don't know. Regarding mods, a lift, good set of AT' tyres and snorkel will get you most places... depends on how crazy you wanna go...

just had a look at the Dobinsons snorkel, looks good. Copy of the safari but I would buy one and save the $$ . Dobinsons is a big name brand not a cheap Chinese rip off.

I wouldn't put the snorkel on as the first accessory unless you did a lot of water crossings. Tyres, air compressor, recovery gear, suspension would be higher up on the list.

Old man emu! Can't go wrong! :-) Having said that, a mate have iron man suspension and loves it! Just have a talk with the installer to see what set up would suit you best ie; for weekends, towing, heavy duty off road, long touring trips etc...
