  • Lightforce XGT or Genesis 50W or X-RAY VISION HID 90W

I can't make up my mind to choose either the Lightforce XGT or Genesis 50W or X-RAY VISION HID 90WSS.

Two are plastic and the others glass and aluminium.

The X-RAYS seem to throw more light than both the XGT and Genesis.

Has anybody got any feedback on the x-ray lights. TJM have them on special for $995 atm.

I like my X-Rays. The genesis were easily the most disappointing light I have ever bought.

I had Lightforce 240Blitz on the my 120, my new XGT's arrived today, so guess what I'm doing this weekend..?

I read and re read a few reviews on lights, and for me, I wanted 'throw'. The Lightforce lights have flux at about 900m.
The current Led range of lights, the max was 1 lux at 200m..
Could be old data, but still.....

I had Lightforce XGTs (Halogen) on my Hilux and they were awesome, but on the Prado, I installed Lightforce 50w HID Genesis, as they fit in the ARB bar nicely. I am not anywhere near as happy with the Genesis as I was with the XGTs.

On my SR5, I have Lightforce 170 Strikers (Halogen) and they are quite impressive for a small light.

I haven't had any experience with the X-Rays.

Looking at the specs the X-rays through light much further down the road. I'd be keen to know how much difference 50w vs 90w hid is in light output terms.

I will run a led light bar as well for light spread.

Andy we have x-Rays in both the 50W spread and 90W spot in HID. The 90W are brighter and throw more light but realistically the 50W lights are plenty. #1 has 90W and a lightbar and the light output is amazing but for all practical purposes the 50W spreads on the Prado give more than enough light for all driving. The 90W spots suffer badly with reflection from road signs.

I bought the X-rays 220 90w hid. Just need to wait for the bullbar to be fitted before I can fit them and try them out.
