  • 1KD rough idle when hot.

    My 07 Prado has started this rough idle I notice when at normal operating temperature stopped at traffic lights as the A/C cycles and the idle speed drops a little it get quiet a rough idle. Doesn't do it cold like when the engine mounts are buggered I replaced them 40000 km ago. It had injectors around 100000 km ago but has no cold knock but I think is using a little more fuel than normal. Any ideas.

    Blocked egr, was it cleaned?

    Scv?

    Map & maf clean....?

    Was it a clean injector job?

      Yeah I think you may be right. I have all the parts to replace injectors, rail and SCV. I will check the valve clearances, pull of the intake and EGR and clean it and fit a catch can all at the same time. It has done 20th km so time for a birthday I think. EGR valve ha never been cleaned to my knowledge. Do they get a build up in the head port around the valves or is it mainly contained to the manifold and EGR.

      Has anyone ever perfected the EGR bypass yet. I read a while back where someone had blanked the exhaust port on the head and teed into the inlet side of the EGR cooler and plumbed it back to the air box. Was this ever proved successful.

        100,000 since injector change? Get the feedback values checked and check the other operating parameters.

          My mistake, I thought I read injectors 10,000k ago. Too many zeros & no comma, fast reading.

          Like Dave said check your injectors, even better just change them out.
          It's likely all going to be related around Injectors.

          Egr all vary, generally the worst part is on the egr & the elbow.
          Some are very clean, some you might remove manifold.
