Which boost gauge and egt gauge are considered okay. I've fitted a 3" exhaust and am thinking of going with a boost controller, chip will be tax time next year. any help welcome. Diesel 120 1kzte gxl.
I have just fitted a triple a-pillar pod into my 1kz. I went with a TurboSmart boost controller and autometer guages. I have EGT, boost and water temp. All was going well but the boost gauge has a bit Of a rattle in it but that's getting taken care of via warranty

The line to the gauge needs a restrictor to damp out the pressure fluctuations causing the rattle.

I couldn't cure the needle rattle with a restrictor and used a cheap inline plastic fuel filter in the line instead, sort of like a damper/accumulator. Slows down the response somewhat, but it's the steady reading you want not the millifurk peak readings.
Just got this fitted it in and haven't got a clue how to calibrate it, it has:
1. SLC zero span (default 0) adjusted display=display +/_ SLC _1999~9999
2. SFC range adjustment (default 0) adjusted display = display x SFC 0.5~1.5
3. FLTR filter strength 1~20
4. TCSC cold compensation value, adjusted display = display + TCSC _20~20
Any help is most appreciated

Gauge knackered they sent me a new one and its good. Dialed the boost up to 13psi from around 9psi and its sitting around 350c at 100kph to 415c when i put my boot into it. The power is very noticeable now more so than when i put the exhaust on. May put a chip on at tax time not sure i need it now, not towing anything just playing around.
Nice looking gauge, but where did you mount it. (photo would be helpful).
Cheers
Frank
At the minute its in the ashtray slot, just wedged in with a bit of folded paper i'm gonna get some plastic and fit it there a bit more professionally when i get the time.
I was thinking of putting one of these from redarc, it gives boost, EGT and one other Temp reading on a single gauge ( I was thinking of using the "other temp" monitor my ATF Temp).
Pretty much reads anything you want it to read if the parameters are set correct. I bought it principally to monitor my EGT temps ( I have a Beaudesert aftermarket exhaust). I know it can monitor a hell of a lot else though. Wired it up for power through the 12v cigarette lighter. The probe cable is run through the firewall and the gauge just sits on the steering wheel column using HD Velcro, therefore it can be removed in minutes and no cutting into trim etc!!!
Found it by reading though MickL's threads (1KZ guru) and Tassie Tiger has threads on it too.
