  • Rear Bar

    Hi All,

Well the missus just reversed into a car parked opposite our driveway this morning and has done some minor damage, how she didnt see the parked car in the reversing camera or hear the sensors.....

I was planning on fitting a steel rear bar the obvious choice was something from Kaymar because to be honest its the only brand i know!!

My question is what other options (companies) are there? and what do i really need to look for/essential for good rear bar protection? Also budget is something i need to be mindful of at the moment

In the future I'd like to do more touring type off roading however it wont be for several years realistically.

Something i can ad to later such as jerry can holders spare wheel mounts when i can afford would be ideal.

    Appreciate your help.

AJ120 had made some for a lot cheaper than Kaymar. Look pretty neat too.

I second what BlakMoth said, AJ120's rear bar is great and probably the best looking bar on the market for the 120. Check the link below

To the Prados credit there is hardly any damage i just realigned the flare on the RHPS and popped it back in to place one or 2 of the clips i think are broken but will be getting fixed shortly.

Poor bloke she reversed into couldn't open his drivers door.... she hit right between the A pillar and the front guard.

I'm beginning to wonder if putting a steel rear bar on the Prado is such smart idea.....

                  Hi All,

I don't want to remove AJ's thunder, but there are several brands around to answer your question:

                  Kaymar - http://www.kaymar.com.au/vehicles/to...20Sensors.php#

                  Raslarr Engineering: http://www.raslarr.com.au/products/t...slarr-rear-bar

                  Ebay - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/TOYOTA-PR...-/180940937422

                  Just to name a few.

I am looking at Raslarr Engineering, as they are in Melbourne, small Family Business, and the bar looks reasonable, unless someone on here advises otherwise. Please feel free to comment.

I don't have any experience with Raslarr other than the one 120 series rear bar of theirs that I have seen, I wont pass comment just show you one photo of one spot on their bar and a comparison to mine and you make up your own mind.

Mine is the second photo just in case there is any doubt

                    Cheers Andrew

AJ's bar is so good, MLC swapped out his MCC just so he could get some AJ bar action on his rear.

                            Rear Bar

Would buy my aj120 bar again and again, value for money even when having it shipped from SA To mackay is worth it, fit and finish is second to none.mand the fact you keep the top of the bumper intact keeping it more of a chop shop job is a massive tick in my book.
