Hey everyone,
I've noticed recently that I am getting a sticky layer on my dash, mostly above the glove box. Lower down, I can also see a cloudy pattern on the sides of the glove box.
My vehicle is a 2006 120 GXL, and the dash is grey in colour.
I have never used chemicals to clean my dash, only water and a sponge.
I have also seen this same stickiness and cloudy pattern on a mates 120, similar vintage as mine, but a beige dash.
I am guessing this is occurring due to high cabin temperatures on hot days/UV exposure, that in combination is somehow making the dash sweat out whatever chemicals are used inside it.
I have also read the cracked dash thread, and noticed one comment about a 'cloudy' pattern on the dash, so I'm concerned that what I'm seeing may be the precursor state to cracks developing in the dash.
Has anyone else observed this sticky layer developing on their dash, and more importantly, have you seen cracks develop?
I don't have any cracks at the moment, and I'm really hoping they don't develop!
Thanks for your help everyone!
Mark
