  • 120 series GXL rims fit?? Alloy or steel ??

Anyone got a 90 with 120 rims on it??? I know the offset is different but the 120 rim being a 1/2 " wider it would probly bring it back to almost normal 90 offset

The 90 has an offset of ET15. The 120 has an offset of ET30. Fitting a 120 rim on a 90 will reduce the track by 30mm which is illegal. Unfortunately, the width of a rim has no bearing on the offset.

I know the offset is a different thing but the width of the rim being bigger will make the rim hang out more
So if you measured center of the rims side to side on the car it will be 30mm less but outside of the rims side to side it won't be 30mm less as there wider

In terms of legalities, you will be reducing the track, therefore it is illegal, unfortunately.

          Not too worried about that
Iv seen 3 cars in 2 days with patrol 17s on them they were 120s different offset but looked normal

That's cause Patrol rims are ET10 offset, which is legal to use on a 120. It is also OK to use it on your 90 too.

So why is changing the offset on a 120 ok but not on my 90
              Patrols are ET10 120s are ET30 90 is ET15

                Because:
                - putting ET30 rims on an ET15 car will reduce the track = illegal.
                - putting ET10 rims on an ET15 car will increase the track within legal limits = OK.

Ahh so you can increase track but not decrease track

Only by a little bit though.

That's right. It is an issue should you get into an accident where the rims are the cause. Then you will be uninsured.
