  • New engine????

I have a 06 prado that is a 3 litre diesel, it was making strange noises when starting that would go after around 5minutes of driving. My mechanic told my to turn engine on and let the car warm up before driving due to a piston issue in some prados, otherwise it would be an expensive repair job to fix them. Well in a rush last week and jumped in and drove off in a hurry only for my car to start stalling around corners. I pulled over because it would now not start. After about 5 mins it started and i made it very slowly 2kms downnthe road to a mechanic. Seems as though my oil filter has clogged up and i have blown the engine. Now dont know what to do: sell it is is and not get much for it(no idea what) and upgrade or replace the engine? Any opinions and ideas on how much i would get or cost of replacement??
    Cheers

Sounds like another injector issue & with some blow by.
He might not know much about it, most workshops don't.

Mechanic should have told you not to drive it. He knew a bit.......
You can try an injector search on here or try google, to find out more.
You really need to find an expert in your area to sort it out.
Hopefully it's not too late, sorry.

Try contacting BDG (baileys diesel group) they will refer you to someone in your area or closest that might be able to help.

Not sure what your problem is you seem to be trying to cause trouble.

I don't advertise here, I simply try to include something that qualifies me to comment as I am one of the few on here with experience working on Prados & these problems. Other than some who just google & post up the best Internet answer they can find. ( which is ok too).
If it was me I would want to know more about the experience & expertise of the person giving the answers.

Nothing in it for me, I'm busy & booked up, if you look at their location it's not anywhere near Melbourne.
I like helping people, so you can continue to contribute & do the same, if you haven't got something positive to say I suggest you keep it to yourself perhaps? Why rock the boat?

All over it, am I allowed to be all over it? I would have thought many would want to hear from ppl that know from facts & experience & I believe the others on here should qualify themselves so we know where they are coming from.

What's worse? I make a dollar helping ppl save their prados?
                Or I shut up & I another he's bang? It's costs them 10-20k
Don't answer, I think I know the answer.

I just re read my post & it reads perfectly fine, with good advice, not sure what correction you would like.
Baileys advertise on here & they are great to deal with, I highly recommend them, that's the best I can do to help ppl save their Prado & Hilux

Correct, I use BDG & receive the same small trade discount the other vehicle tech's & businesses do.
It's got nothing to do with my price. I wish !!!

I don't recommend businesses or persons on 1 experience, I'm modest with this, as experiences can vary widely.
Once I have built a relationship with my suppliers I am confident they are providing great products & service many times, it's my duty to recommend them, that's helping the people

This is going into personal attacks people. I suggest a read of the rules in regards to all of that. And on advertising etc. It's all in there.

#1 Start by reading the forum rules for adverting and stop dancing around loop holes on behalf of above mentioned!!

I see you as an employed sprooker on behalf of baileys!!

Have you noticed that there is other retailers on here that don't have sprookers bouncing around all over threads to promote them!

My advise "IMHO" is that Digitally calibrated Genuine is better than blue-printed!

Between Amayam & Rick (Newzealand) they give excellent competitive pricing and they are brand spanking new/Never used/ The real deal so to speak!

                        Also!

I have read & re-read what i have written and i am looking forward to the Streisand affect of all of this dancing around which will provoke more in-depth detailed information courtesy of you #############

Other retailers have nothing to do with it, surely we are able to recommend, the retailers who pay to be on this site if we feel we know them well enough & have had excellent dealing with them. Others recommend businesses that are not paid up retailers, that's should be ok too. Put yourself in the Prado owners position, I'm sure they appreciate the help. IMO nobody knows more about it & is prepared to help more than BDG.

You are entitled to your opinion, but remember this thread is not about what injectors are better, I give my customers the option.
This thread, is a guy who is in some trouble & I did my best to help him out, pointed him in what I thought was a great direction.
You got shares in Amayam? It's sure sounds like it you have been spruking for years, but I no make a deal about it.

Rick n_z I got no issue with his deal either, is he a paid retailer here?

I'm going to point ppl in the direction of local help, not just parts from foreign countries.

                            Thank you.

Dave - Is it a new engine or just cracked and holed pistons? From what I've seen here you are looking at around 9-10K for a new short motor. You might be able to source on secondhand one cheaper.
