Favourite Spot Along the Murray in SA

Hey guys,

I'm planning to take the kids camping and fishing for a couple of nights in the next school holidays. Can I get some suggestions as to where people keep going back to. I've found a few spots on the map, but real life opinions are worth more.

All I'm after is a quiet place around 100 to 150k's from Adelaide where we can drop a line and maybe set a few yabbie traps. Early October should be nice weather and we might even beat most of the mossies.

It's a bit further than you suggest but you can't go past Kataraptko for a top spot, lots of camping and as good as any place to catch a feed.

+1 for Kataraptko Creek.

went there a long time ago but it was a fantastic camping spot.

Closer to Adelaide you could try Castles landing just elbow Lock one. It's private and you need to book with the owners, been a longtime since we amped there but it was nice enough.

Yeah, I have already checked out Castles Landing. Found it on another 4x4 forum where someone had recommended it.
