Just had a big problem with the old girl, next to no brakes at all. I hadn't driven the car for the past week or so but everything was working fine last time it was driven. Today when I hoped in about to head down to the shops there was a loud high pitched alarm and the following dash lights were constantly illuminated "ABS" "VSC TRC" and "VSC OFF".
Initially the brakes seemed to be working fine, but as I started to move they rapidly got very heavy, to the point the brake pedal is rock hard and takes a lot of force just to slow a little. It feels like there is no vacuum assist. I have checked the owners manual, not very helpful, take it to Toyota and don't drive it obviously.
I have disconnected the battery to try and reset the ECU but no joy.
Not sure if this is relevant but the last time I drove it I was not able to engage the centre diff lock, the light just keeps flashing.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
