  • Relocating reverse camera

Tried relocating reverse camera to my number plate so I could see the towball when hooking up. That was the easy part plenty of wire in the loom for the job. Problem is the standard camera isn't a wide enough angle so bought an after market wider angle one .A bit grainy pic and no colour checked the voltage to the camera and only 6 volts ?. Most require 12 volts ANY IDEAS.

Thought about 12 volts from reverse lights but had already fixed up the wiring . Checked through the masses of links here and looks like I messed up the camera I got is PAL should be NTSC. Still the 6 volts bit still puzzles me .

All fixed Up graded the tyres to 265/70s got rid of the gay wheel cover and put original camera back in its place and presto I can see the tow ball.
Also read somewhere in the forum on how to change the start up pic on the camera. Is there anyway of deleting the annoying writing at the bottom of the screen to get a clearer view.

I use the annoying writing to let me know where the towable is.... ie between the two 'rr's and about an inch past the bottom of the screen. ;-)

Thanks have been doing that but now the cover has gone I can actually see the ball. I was thinking of changing the hitch to the new Mc job as my van is a Jayco outback gross at 2500kg and I like the idea of the 360 degree articulation. Being a ring feeder type of hitch a clearer view would be good.
Come on you techno nerds there has to be a way .
