Same same. Rough route and major destinations locked in and booked. Just to work out the finer details now. Shame we only have the two weeks of school holidays to work with It seems the first week is to be kiddie oriented as apparently the second week is 'boring adult stuff'. LOL

Stoked to find out that the Big 4 in Port Arthur allows campfires though. Its not camping without a fire and it should keep the Tassie cold at bay.

Usually only do day trips from our shack - but that does look to be an option. If you don't mind us locals.

Just thought it might give you some other trip ideas while here in the state touring.

            • Have just received news that one of the attendees has had to pull out due to something to do with porn, that was his words. After reading their message again it might have said something about soccor being like porn.

When it comes to family they are the most important thing and when life changing opportunities come up you need to grasp them and run, even if that means missing out on a week full of fun here in Tasmania.

              • Just having bought a prado only a few weeks back and being aware of this forum for a while now i thought i'd have a look over it again last night. Well i thought, oh wonder where the GTG is this year...Tas! So i think its time to register and get behind this good thing and meet some proud fellow prado owners!

                • 2 good places to stay at for those who are doing things after the GTG, that won't hurt the hip pocket so much is Solar and Paradise caravan park at Low Heads, $10 per vehicle non power per night with free shower $15 per night for power, and Rocky Cape Tavern, $3 per person shower/toilet(given a key) per night non power $10 extra per night for power. Plenty of room at both with good water pressure and temp. Rocky Cape Tavern area has the best grassy sites then anywhere else we have been at. Hope this helps some out as a lot of places you pay a premium $25 - $40 per night and then also pay for a shower with coins.

                  Cheers Derek

It has taken till 5 months out for the two headed jokes to start, not a bad effort.

It is a shame the South Australian had to drop out but it is also good news that a new Prado owner from Tasmania has joined in.

                          • ok so i'm justifying this post here as i'm getting the lift kit installed 'ready for the Tas GTG 2015' - i'm currently looking around at kits and the different options. I want a 2" lift under the old girl, i've presently got HD springs in the front taking the weight of the bar/winch/dual batt/roof cage, but i want to change over the lot for a new full set of springs/shockies. I'll be looking at medium duty springs for ride comfort and if the need arises further down the track for carrying extra weight in the back i'll fit poly airs. My bro in law is a mechanic so i can get him to fit/assist me but i was just after some advice, particulary from the tassie tribe on what sort they have and how much i'm looking at paying - they seem to start around the $800 and go up from there, realistically around $1300 is the top of my budget (purchase only). King springs and any of either EFS, Lovells, Bilstein, OME seem to be thhe go, any comments/suggestions on where to get them welcome.
