  • Bullbar measurements.

Morning prado point members. I'm trying to find measurements from chrome grill to front of bullbars and also the approach angle of different bars. It seems the xrox has a good approach angle but I'd rather the three hoop so the lights are protected too. Is it possible to weld extra bits onto the bar maybe ?

I wouldn't be thinking an Xrox is going to give you any protection..
Saw one after a Roo hit the other day in WA.. Tow job..

Chrome grill to centre front on the ARB deluxe is 210mm, add 30mm where the rubber bump stops are.

ARB would have the approach angle, but just remember that measurement is not the be all and end all of things. I think from memory the ARB bar is similar or worse than the Sovereign bar, however the approach angle in front of the wheel is far better, so in practical terms a lot better off road.

      Cheers Andrew

Funny, it was only a few weeks ago I was discussing the idea of changing my ARB steel bar to an Xrox to save some weight. I decided against it as I travel frequently so hitting a roo is pretty much guaranteed, I already had a couple close calls in the past. Then it happened, 1 roo, 100km/h, managed to brake to around 80km/h, hit the bar with a thud. No issues apart from a cracked reflector. That's 2 cars and 1 roo in the past year and it's still going strong. Xrox bars might be great for comp vehicles but not a tourer.

It just seems like the bars stick out so far. The xrox stays in nice and tight just wish it was stronger and had the hoops over to protect the lights. Even in a comp car you'd wanna have your lights protected.

An xrox or similar comp bar provides very little protection if any under the bar. Have a look at the inner guard panels, totally exposed. Useless in my opinion and that is without commenting on how they look.

Anymore measurements out there fellas. Opposite lock reckon their bars are the same as arb bars.
