I'd do it again in a heartbeat, cost me around 3500$ ppl say why don't you just buy a diesel one but I couldn't give a flying f$&k what ppl say
At the time the cheapest diesel AUTO was around 18k manual was around 14k I wasn't going to try sell mine for maybe 12 then buy another one
It's my second 1KZ conversion and maybe my 15th other conversion so to me it's a fun thing to do

          • Oh yes! I love that shizzle!

I feel a disturbance in the force!

Meanwhile, I organised a dB Drag Event at work for today... I'd been so busy doing other stuff that I forgot to put something in my own car to compete with.

So... grab two subwoofer, sheet of MDF and a six pack and i came up with this..

Didn't quite hit as hard as I was hoping, but still managed a good solid "burp" of 143.4dB @ 67Hz

Took second place. Tomorrow, box comes out, clean it up and put it on the showroom for sale... some P plater will buy for sure.

Awesome! I used to play with such things, ported boxes, isobaric, bandpass, etc. Much fun.

That box has many screws, but I reckon they're needed!

                  • I believe the 05+ hilux bars fit and are a lot cheaper. The only issue is the mounts. But if for example you got an ARB bar you could just order the Prado mounts.

Saw a post in the Aussie Prado 90 Facebook page.

Fitted diff breathers. Decided it was too hard to get the transfer case one so left it for a day when i have the console out. If it ever gets deep enough to need it i hope i have my boat with me
I did mine similar Ian, but filled them up the first time i hosed the engine bay.
I "T" pieced them together and ran them into a small K&N, which i have hidden under a spray can lid now, so it breathes from underneath. Can now hose the bay without fear.

                      Regards, Jason.

                      • I took 5 days off over Easter with great plans for the Prado... then life got in the way. Today is day 5.

SWMBO has been informed that today is Prado day and I will spend all day doing things to the Prado that I've wanted to get done for months. No problems she says, right after I mow the lawns, take her to a doctors appointment and take our daughter to a soccer match.

                            • So one of the very few things I got done today was my under hood work lights. They are semi automatic.

When you open the hood, there is a momentary push button switch that will glow red to indicate where the switch is, this is connected to a latching circuit. You have to switch them on everytime. To switch them off, simply close the bonnet to turn off relay and reset circuit.

Walky88, i have a couple of observations on your new suspension that i will reserve until i know what brand it is.

If you don't mind, could you let me know the brand of the Shocks? and a pic of all of those numbers on the front struts would be great if you could. I want to do a little research.

                                Kind Regards, Jason.
