    • New DBA T2 rotors up front, Bendix brake pads all around and a helping of Toyota DOT 3 fluid. She does pull up harder now under heavy braking. The pedal still seems kinda soft like it use to though, but apparently the 120's were like that I heard?

Nice work! I'll be doing the same shortly!

Apparently we can use Dot 4 fluid as well, as it has the same properties as Dot 3, but higher boiling point?

There is something with dot4 fluid that messes with the seals in toyota brake systems, mostly abs modules. I have seen them leak with the only explanation being dot4 used. Some use it and don't have problems, for me it's not worth the risk, on mine and my customers cars.

Thanks for the heads up! I'll be heading back to repco and swapping mine out for Dot 3, just to be on the safe side!

I have the D697's currently and will lean towards the Toyo ATII due to higher load rating and cheaper pricing.

Yep, sure did. Oddly, on the rear brakes only one pad out of four had a metal backing plate. Someone had been there before and was obviously not very thorough. Makes you wonder about some of the muppets working out there.....on vehicle braking systems! :-?

The Toyota Dot 3 fluid is not expensive and that is what is recommended. As AussieAndy mentioned, is it worth having something in the system leak for the sake of a different brake fluid. I'm not driving a race car, so the Dot 3 is fine.

                      • Installed some Narva Intense H4 bulbs (and the matching parkers) in the headlights and Intense H3 bulbs in the ARB bullbar fog lights.
The headlights were easy as. The fog lights were a PITA and took hours due to rusty nuts/bolts as well as an existing wiring fault I had to fix for the fog lights whilst I was at it. 2 fuses and a wire crimper later and it's all good.
See my Facebook post in the Aussie 120 Prado page for the pics.

just did a little look up, the toyos look alright but that speed rating is pretty low for someone like me. We don't carry a lot in the car either, compared to what everyone else here has (drawers in the back, roof racks with house supplies on top etc).

The higher load rating usually means better puncture resistance
