some models don't have the filter (gx, gxl) and some do (vx, grande)

i believe the ryco number for the filter is rca104p
Thanks for this info, I'll go digging behind the glove box this weekend. Should I disconnect negative battery terminal at least in case the Airbags get excited and go pop?

nah mate, dont worry about the airbags, they are in the top section of the dash. The wiring is in yellow conduit so easy to see, but will not be an issue. never had an issue with it. pulled many apart with no dramas.

        Cheers Joel

Fitted these up today. Came with used 265 / 70 / 17 Grandtreks. Will be replacing them shortly. Any advice on which tyres? Looking at BF goodrich ko2 all-terrains.
These are +15, compared with the stock +30, they sit flush with the guards and give a very stanced look to it. And no rubbing anywhere either

what joel said. airbags are of no worry.

filter tray is white and should be right in front of you with TOYOTA moulded to it as well as arrows pointing up on the sides

I've still got to clean inside and engine, but even with that I know I won't be coming close to what you will be doing!!

Going to need that truck wash - there's about 1.4 litres of it on the front of the camper...

                      • AJ was behind me heading into Hobart. I was chasing an old army Defender 110 and a Disco 4 TDV6 up a big hill. I passed the Defender and started pushing the Disco up the hill. I had the CT in tow and the landies were free wheeling. AJ then reported his alternator light had come on. I then looked at my scanguage: fluctuating from 13.1 to 13.5 volts. Looks like I have an electrical issue with the alternator too.

I know what that's like as we once had a similar situation with a diesel leak, covered the camper trailer in no time at all.

Also just helped Bushbasher reset his T Belt light after clocking up 150 thou the other day.

                            • 15 litres of auto transmission fluid to get it back to a red (as opposed to the black) colour.
Another job ticked of the list.

Well after driving through this a week or so ago

I knew something wasn't quite right, was hoping to make it back home to check things out but going into Hobart today the alternator light came on. The clutch on the alternator had carked it and the only one available was a 130amp OEX. Had it changed in the car park at KMart in Hobart

                                Cheers Andrew
