        • Hey Hazza, didn't you get a spacer as part of the package for the fuel lines? My steps from TJM came with a 5mm spacer and the instruction mentioned where to install it.

            • Was lucky to have a nice quiet day at home so dropped and replaced the oils for the rear diff, front diff, transfer case, engine, miscellaneous fluids and other bits and pieces.

              Cheers

                Gramps,

Yes the kit did have the spacer but never the less it did not give enough clearance where the fuel lines snake up-down just below where the top 140 mm bolt comes through the plate. I did manipulate the pipes (per instructions) but my best efforts could not produce enough clearance for my liking just a few mm from the nut.

If the steps dropped over time (there is a gap between the 140 mm bolt and chassis at the top) the mounting bolt and nut would drop enough to come in contact with the pipe especially on a corrugated road.

When I get a chance I will take some photos and also make a bracket to hold the pipes lower. By the way the pipes drop down willingly without adding stress so it would make sense I take them in that direction around 10 mm so then my overall gap between pipe and nut would be 12 to 15 mm.

We drive mass produced cars and no one vehicle is the same so not a problem for your car Gramps but an issue with mine. Many years ago when I worked for Mr 'T' we had an issue with Hi-Lux tow-bars not fitting. Engineers for the tow-bar company come to investigate and they brought their temp plate. We walk out to the yard where we had hundreds of cars and measured the chassis of a number of cab chassis Hi-Lux. There was 16 mm difference between the narrowest and widest chassis and every thing in between. Hopefully these days with progress (not much faith here) Mr 'T' works on tighter tolerances but even if they did no one vehicle is the same unfortunately.

When I post a photo it will tell the story clearly.

                Cheers

I hear you on the tolerance issue. When I installed MLC's rear bar onto my 120 I have a wide gap between the existing wheel arch flares and the bar itself. Instead of the couple of mm's that MLC had, I've ended up with about 5-7cm gap. Just goes to show, no 2 cars are exactly the same.

                    • Brother in law and I wired up a 42" and 22" Stedi CREE led lightbar to my ARB touring rack.
Looks good and reduced wind noise.
Need to paint one side of antenna black. Looks light a bright white light saber when the led's are on.
