  • Rattle at low revs

When accelerating at low revs I can hear a rattle in the engine, I'm not sure if this is just normal, or a problem. Does anyone else hear this ?

I find my 2012 D4D Kakadu rattles more at idle and lower rpm's using Caltex but doesn't using Shell. Don't know why.

I have found that hiluxs at work that belong the a certain company that only uses caltex rattle and just generally lack a little power and smoothness. I have also found these to block fuel filters quicker than any others. Have found bp to be the best in out area. In saying that if you are labouring your engine too much it will always rattle/ping and not run smooth

Could be the clutch if its a manual? I've picked up on a similar noise on my 120 today and research is leading me to the clutch area as the culprit.

            Cheers,
